It has the charm of the mountain huts, surrounded by the silence that welcomes you into the Val Canali. A silence made of many and varied noises. Sounds imperceptible at first, then more and more pleasing , a melody ever changing. In the name, Cant Del Gal, has the capercaillie. Its sound is a hymn to nature that only silence allows you to hear it. The valley leads into the heart of the forest the natural harmonic resonance where firs grow in symbiosis.
Forest and mountains , the wonderful Pale di San Martino mountains to protect a unmatched habitats. Where the man work to protect the countryside and to satisfy the appetite of those they stop in our restaurant, a historical mix of refuge, inn, tavern and forest station.
Founded in 1951 , initially as a logistic base for climbing enthusiasts, brave mountaineers, curious tourists who wanted to see up close the Dolomites, as admirably described by the writer Dino Buzzati . Now it has become a refuge that offers typical dishes of our local tradition.
Cant del Gal is managed by Marzia with her husband Nicola and young daughters Stephanie and Pernilla. The menu proposed by Chef Marco Salvadori is the most typical one you can find in the mountains, rich and variegated, combined with the quality of raw materials .
In our restaurant we serve products presided over by Slow food of the Trentino and the local dairy production , with a nice selection of cheeses to pair with a Trentino wine cup, thanks to the very comprehensive wine list and attentive to local specialty.
